Leafy Links: WoW Headlines

This is a rather useful wee site: WoW Headlines.

It's much like the Warcraft AllTop, but broken down by classes instead of blogs. The majority of the subscriptions in my RSS reader are druids, bar the few dozen friends I've also added. This is a really handy way to keep abreast of discussions going on amongst the blogospheres around other classes.

Nice work from the person behind Alterac Volley, I believe.

Leafy's Fun Reads #2: Blogatelle

One thing I don't mention here very often is that I'm on a roleplay server. We partially chose that to get away from stupid name, and partially because a good proportion of the guild are roleplayers, some of us semi-professionally. But I have to confess that I don't do as much roleplaying in WoW as I might like to.

Blogatelle is a blog that makes me really, really wish that I did more of it. A multi-author blog that concentrates just on roleplay in WoW, it really challenged my pre-conceptions about how rich an enivronment for roleplaying the game actually can be. The group of authors mean that there's always something new in you feed reader and even if one post doesn't spark your imagination, another one will. Well worth checking out.

Leafy's Fun Reads #1: Shift-T

Alas and alack, I've barely had ant time to log into the game in recent days. Scourge remain unslain, and time-limited bosses undropped.

So, instead I thought I'd take the time to tell you about one of the blogs I'm enjoying. It goes by the name of Shift-T, and is (whisper it) a Hunter blog. Mrigashirsha¹ post about hunter-specific things but alos about generally just enjoying yourself in-game, in this pre-Wrath period. And that's an angle we don't see covered enough, I think, (although Gnomer has touched on similar issues recently) given the progression/achievement²-orientation of much WoW blogging.

Recent posts include cool quests you might have missed in Outlands (and the "drive a Fel Reaver" one is a must, if you haven't done it yet), and some challenges that occur because of the nature of debates on the web.

It's well worth dropping into your feed reader, and do drop by and say hello to Mrigashirsha!

Evidently Bruce Baugh, game designer extraordinaire, and blogger on Tor Books new site, like my WoW as a Social Operating System post enough to pick up the ball and run with it. He's done a great job in developing some of my ideas, so go, check it out.

Oh, and while you're there, check out the rest of the site. There's some great SF / Fantasy bloggery happening there, at a remarkably high level of intelligence.
