Making the World of Warcraft more trivial, one post at a time…

Once again, run what you want. I think they will be even more fun since it will truly be a choice to be there. If you truly run twenty-fives because you love them and prefer that challenge then this may well be your golden age.

Unless you’re an asshat, but that kinda goes without saying.

And I think that obviates the need for me to write anything about these changes myself.

But I might do anyway…

At some point, finding 24 other people who also “love” 25’s is going to be hard for anyone who wants to do it casually & not be super hard-core and raid with 3 characters…

    Why?

What on earth does raiding with three characters have to do with it?

25 mans are still going to be the most time-efficient way of gearing up and progressing…

“If you truly run twenty-fives because you love them and prefer that challenge then this may well be your golden age.”

Raiding lost its challenge after Ulduar. Sorry, but the golden age of raiding left us after TBC. 25s will slowly die leading the way for 10s to die out in favor of 5s. It’s the way the money flows. The less time it takes to clear an instance and get purples the happier the majority seems to way. Not saying you are that way at all, but that’s the thought line of the majority now. Plus anyone who opposes it is a nerd-raging hardcore or so one of my commenters and his guild mates think.

I can appreciate your optimism though and hope Blizzard realizes they’ve lost their desire to add challenge to this game and reintroduces it in 25s in Cataclysm.

I think the last thing I consider 25man runs to be is “time-efficient”. Unless you have a very very solid group, you will often end up pugging, waiting on folks, too many brb’s. The gear upgrades are awesome but the time frames can be annoying.

I have done both and for just a good time I prefer 10man and if I’m really wanting a challenge and gear I throw myself into 25man. Currently I’m taking a raiding break to PVP my buns off:)
