I never did get around to talking about my first step into Wrath heroics, did I?
A little background: I pretty much missed out Heroics during Burning Crusade. My guild pretty much went straight from instances to Kara, and skipped the heroic stage. I did the run for my epic flight form quest, a few slave pens runs and the like for Cenarion Expedition rep, and, errr, that's it.
But, last Thursday, I was shanghaied into an heroic Culling of Stratholme run by a couple of mates. And I'd never even done it on non-heroic. Or, in fact, done a level 80 instance before. How did it go?
Well, I died a couple of times on the build up to the first boss, as I figured out when I could safely start healing the tank. But the first boss went down easily enough:
And then we settled into a groove. And my luck seemed to be in:
OK, just a BoE Blue, which I still need to figure out what to do with, but it's an achievement, right?
And from there onwards, it was plain sailing:
And that answered the question "can you get the non-heroic achievement on heroic mode?" with a definitive "yes".
As we were on a roll, we went to peek our heads round the door of Utgarde Pinnacle on non-heroic, as it was the daily:
Oh, yeah. Easy.
So we tried it again on Heroic, sailed through the first two bosses - and then I can repeatedly turned into splinters on the gauntlet. Ah, well. No point in running before you can walk…
