Making the World of Warcraft more trivial, one post at a time…

DissingNobody warned me. But I expect nobody knew.

But it happened none the less.

At first it was dribs and drabs, and only done for my own benefit. People would sent me spare greens to disenchant for my own stocks. And that was lovely of them.

But something changed at 70.

People started sending greens for disenchanting, and asking for the mats to be returned. Some days, I’d login and spend 10 minutes just dissing things and returning them, especially if I was short on bag space and had to do lots of swapping.

And then the Shattered Sun Offensive arrived. And people started getting green after green after green from the Shattered Sun Supplies. I don’t mind, really I don’t.

But maybe it’s time for a small disenchant fee?

aww poor Leafy… you could always just keep some of the mats? If some people are sending you a ton of things to disenchant, keep maybe one arcane dust or one lesser planar essence (or whatever it is) for every 3 items or something? Technically thats a fee…?

Oh :< I’m glad that people don’t bother me too much with it but there are days… on which I have to disenchant 50-100 items. For free of course… *sigh* Only one person gave me 10g for disenchanting 20 items. Maybe you should ask for 1g per 5 items – else it’s too timeconsuming ;P you could do a daily in 10 minutes if you wouldn’t disenchant.. ;D

Hehe I used to ask a friend to do this for me but I asked before I sent anything and gave her quite a lot of it back to use to level her enchanting! Since then I’ve levelled enchanting myself but noone seems to bother me to disenchant stuff unless I offer (people complaining about lack of bagspace etc.) Don’t know whether I could ask a fee from guildies or friends though. Asking them for a small percentage of the mats might not be so bad – though I personally have planars and dust coming out of my ears now! /hug /vanish

I think if you point out the time it takes for you to do this, time you could spend gaining faction or farming for raid consummables, most folks would understand your desire to get some kind of return on that investment.

    Thanks all.

My tongue was fairly firmly in my cheek, because often my guildies repay me in other ways. Sprockette, for example, keeps me well stocked with potions and Primal Lifes for those healing enchants.

That said, if the circle of guildies grows any larger, I will have to do something, so I don’t spend the whole of my often limited game time in front of a mailbox.

Just in case you weren’t aware, Auctioneer Advanced now includes an “auto disenchanter”. You still need to click a button, but it starts DE’ing as soon as you open the mail package.. or at least as soon as it hits your bag.

Allows you to go into mindless DE mode for a few minutes.

Then you can use the DE mats button to reload the mats into your mail to send them off.
