Making the World of Warcraft more trivial, one post at a time…

So, been a bit quiet around here, hasn’t it?

watches tumbleweeds drift past

There’s a reason for that. And the reason is:

Leafyislebombing

Yes, Patch 2.4 has bored the pants off me. It appears that the new content model for the end game is to do the same thing again and again and again and again.

My goodness, I am sick and tired of daily quests.

I was really hoping that there might be a traditional quest line or two as part of the patch, but no. It’s daily, daily, daily. And some of them are just bizarre. Is there any point at all to taking readings off an anomaly or six in Nagrand, bar the off chance of a Badge of Justice?

These days, when I go to login, I either think "nah", or go play one of my lowbie alts instead. The idea of spending an hour doing exactly what I did yesterday with Leafy just isn’t appealing.

Blizz, I know you love yer dailies. But please, please, start giving us some traditional quest content with these patches.

Amen, hallelujah. I really only actually ENJOY two of the daily quests (bombing runs- I have a weakness for flinging high explosives and fire arrows around).

The rest, I grind out because A: a couple of the things you can get with SSO rep are handy to me and B: having just picked up enchanting, I’m so strapped for cash it’s definitively non-hilarious.

I just wrote and deleted about four paragraphs before remembering that this is a comment on someone else’s blog, not a post on my own. ;) I’ll try to get something up today, maybe, since now I really do want to post about this.

For similar and other reasons I’ve been doing the same thing. The only daily I do enjoy is the Fishing thing because I like fishing and want to get the Hat. I used to like the Bombing runs in Skettis and especially Ogri’la but now I am exalted with both factions by mainly doing those runs … it gets old.

So I’ve spent my play time leveling a lowbie alt and finding new ways to make gold, which is much more fun and nearly as lucrative as doing dailies while still advancing another character :)

Amen. While I love the quick gold, I bore too easily to find the dailies all that enjoyable!

Nicely said, totally agree… Daily repetitive tasks = work, that’s not what i wow for

I do weeklies instead… there is no way I can do the same thing over and over every day. I have no idea how people actually do dailies daily, and some even on more than one character!

    B – O – R – I – N – G !!

    Is tumbleweeds in Europe?

Fer me, the rewards is worth the pain. Used the money to pay for a new profession, want the shield and amulet ya gets at exalted, and I still hold out hopes I’ll get enough Badges ta buy a nice epic someday. But even so, I can only manage a few days a week.

I have also gone from doing my dailies every single day (inc. Ogri’la and Skettis) to doing them only a couple of days a week. They are boring as all hell. It’s bad, because I need to hit exalted to get the new alchemist stone recipe … >.<

Hear hear. I have not logged in my main in two weeks now, I think. The idea of killing more arcane patrollers just sounds ugh. I did the new dailies religiously every day for 3 or 4 days after the patch, collected mad cash, and then just … got bored. And it’s not like I have trouble killing anything, I’m a warlock. It’s just tedious. I rolled a couple of baby alts, they are so much fun! :)
